Colonoscopy

During a Colonoscopy, a doctor inserts a colonoscope, a long and flexible tube, through the anus into the rectum and colon. The scope inflates the colon with air and transmits a video image to a monitor, allowing the doctor to thoroughly examine the lining of the colon.

Preparation for Colonoscopy / කොලනෝස්කෝපි සඳහා සූදානම් වීම

• English: Consume your last meal before 7:00 AM on the day of the test (**avoid vegetables and leafy greens**).
• සිංහල: පරීක්ෂණය කරන දින උදෑසන **7.00ට පෙර අවසාන ආහාරය ගන්න** (**එලවළු සහ පලා වර්ග නොගන්න**).
• English: Drink plenty of **water** to stay hydrated.
• සිංහල: **ජලය වැඩිපුර** පානය කරන්න.
• English: From **8:00 AM to 9:00 AM**, start taking the **Kleen Prep medication**:
  • Dissolve the **powder from one packet** in **1 liter of clean water**.
  • Drink the solution gradually within **one hour**.
• සිංහල: උදෑසන **8.00 සිට 9.00** දක්වා **Kleen Prep** ඖෂධය ගන්න:
  • පැකට්ටුවේ **කුඩු 1 ලීටරයකි** පිරිසිදු ජලය තුළ දිය කරන්න.
  • එය **පැයක් ඇතුළත වරින් වර** බීයුතුය.
• English: Between **9:00 AM and 10:00 AM**, drink **water, coconut water, or colorless fluids**.

• English: From **11:00 AM to 12:00 PM**, drink **plenty of water**.

• English: Between **12:00 PM and 1:00 PM**, take the **third packet** of Kleen Prep solution.

• English: After completing the solution, continue drinking **water** for proper cleansing.

• English: Arrive at **Seth Sevana Hospital** by **3:00 PM** for your scheduled colonoscopy.
